I got the iPad I ordered for the wife like an hour ago. All I can say is wow! It's some device. The screen and build quality are absolutely unbelievable. I was setting it up with some apps for my wife and they are so cool. I laughed when that dude said that apps for the iPad are infinitely better. He wasn't kidding around. I mean, my iPhone feels so small now! I want one too!!!! |

Devo,
Make sure to get the NetFlix app, I've been wondering how movie will look. I can't wait until NetFlix hits for the iPhone. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I downloaded Netflix right after iBooks. The video quality looks pretty darn good. The ABC app is wicked cool too. I mean, wicked cool. I also really liked the NPR app.
Now, if she would just give it up to let me play more. |

Let us know if you think the iPad will become your go to device for most of your internet and computing uses. One reviewer seems to think that it will become a big part of his life. As more useful applications are created it might become one's main computing device.

| I'm curious what it's like to hold it in viewing position long enough to watch a movie, or longer, to read a book. Some have said a pound and a half gets heavy after a while. |

For sure you'd want the Apple case or something similar for long term viewing. I think the device will be used more often for short little bursts. |

My wife is using her pregnant belly for a stand.
Okay, so here is my devotastic review of the iPad.
The good:
Battery life seems to be really good.
The screen and viewing angles are FANTASTIC.
It's fast and video plays like butter.
Doesn't seem to get hot.
The native apps, Netflix, ABC, New York Times all kick it.
I'm not a big book reader, but iBooks is really nice.
It feels really nice in your hands.
Build quality is nice and sturdy.
The bad:
The keyboard doesn't feel as responsive as the iPhone.
The speaker is decent, but not great.
It's a little on the heavy side. It's a lapper.
There should be some earbuds in the box.
It will not do the yard work I put off today. |

What Its a portable device with a main selling point being music and video and the stingey gets leave out the headphones
Apple really are starting to take the $$$$ with decisions like this, such as no longer including the remote control on a £1000+ computer that it used to be included with. Similar with the iPods they stopped including the recharger. Its not a good practice and really gives a bad impression. They should be included even if they'd had to bump the price slightly. _________________ Phil

I picked mine up yesterday morning at 9:45 and it's awesome. My wife's came via UPS a little later. I also got the Apple case and the mini dock. The apps are awesome. Weather HD is a great way to show off the display. I find it easier to type in landscape than in portrait, but if I'm home, I can always use my BT keyboard. This thing is going to travel with me and I'll leave the MacBooks at home. I love it!!!! _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

| Would anyone got their iPad share their web surfing experience? Especially how WiFi connection make your web experience better, same, or worse than normal computers? Anyone use ad hoc airport connection to browse web from mini (or desktop) internet sharing? Thanks |
