| It's nearly go time, and I'm getting the cold feet. I just keep thinking about the buyer's remorse sometimes that comes with being the early adopter. I'm thinking I'll be like a lot of people and wait to play with one in the store, and if they aren't sold out, make it an impulse buy. |

I'll add to my previous post in this thread - Since I can't run what I want, only what Apple wants, I'll pass on this.

As we aren't getting the iPad until the end of April we at least have the benefit of sitting back and watching what you guys in the States / Canada actually make of it before we have to make our own decisions.
I'll be eagerly reading all the comments before making my final decision. _________________ Phil

I cracked and put in my pre order for the 16gb. If I have the change for the 32gb, I'll ask if I can bump up to that one, they offered it to me on the 3GS IPhone. Although, from what I've read there's no guarantee on me getting the 16gb, even if I show up at 7am for the 9am opening.
Guess it will depend on whether or not I feel like getting up early that Saturday morning. |

I'm still planning on it but I'll probably wait until the initial rush is over (at least sumer) but when I do I'll just go right to the top with the 64GB WiFi+3G. _________________ "You cannot run out of time. There is infinite time. You are finite. Zathras is finite."

I'm just happy the French aren't getting it first.
That sounds like a smart move to me. |

Maybe we'll meet standing in line based on your location.
I ordered the 32GB Wi-Fi and all the accessories. _________________ Brian

If you're going to South Park, I maybe there. I am still question myself, as I get to ask for one big XMas gift a year, and this may become it. If I do go the first day, I refuse to get there before 7am. _________________

For testing and development, as well as for the sites.
If you have a question about something or want to chat, feel free to PM me after the release date.

Yeah, coming down early from Mooresville. Here's hoping they have a store at Northlake for the next generation. _________________ Brian

Great googly moogly, do they ever need one in Northlake. The Southpark store is a joke. It's always over packed, and I can never get any kind of service. Heaven forbid you are not a middle aged caucasian male who looks like they brought their wallet, cause getting help is impossible.
I ordered one of the new remotes online and went to pick it up, it took 30 minutes because no one wanted to wait on me. Just kept walking by me. I had to go to the person who greets you at the door, to get help. Even then, when they told someone in back to get it, it was another 20 mins. Eventually I got pissed over having to go thru all that for a $19 remote, the manager went and got it. It became a big deal when it became feedback time and I had to relate the story.
I think the best service I ever got in that store, was when I got my 3GS IPhone, and they did that one salesperson per customer deal. Otherwise, I bring the headphones, play some calm music, and learn patience.
I have noticed though if I go in, not shaven in a week or two, they are quicker to take care of me to get me out of there. So there maybe something to that. For the IPad first day, I know anyone early with a pre order will get treated right. _________________

I'm surprised they even let you in SouthPark with a little stubble.
I always feel out of place there for some reason. Believe it or not, I tend to stay out of the retail stores. I buy most things from Apple online. I was just worried about getting Saturday delivery from FedEx this time around. That's why I decided to go with the in-store pickup.
Are you actually up Huntersville or Mooresville way? _________________ Brian

I am right in Charlotte by UNCC. Southpark is like 20 mins away, and never a pleasant trip. Southpark is the definition of a mall that tries to hard. It plays up the ritzy thing, and like you people often don't feel comfortable in there. I only go there for the Apple store, and I am out.
It was a great choice for an Apple store, cause that area seems to have far too much disposable cash. That Apple store blows thru Macs like your local Gamestop/EB goes thru game systems. It's frightening to see how many Macs off all sizes go out of the store in a single weekend. I got my Mac on the back to school weekend, and they closed the store only to customers who were buying. If you were browsing you had to wait in a different line to be let in when they had room.
Having gotten a little more into Apple products though, the Apple store itself has become less appealing, as the stuff I usually want now they don't carry. One day though, I will check out the new main NY Apple store. _________________

I just always come out of there feeling like a loser.
I love the area over towards UNCC. I went to school there for a year in the early 90's before transferring out. _________________ Brian
