Anybody looking for a small lightweight distro, well here it is.
Unity Linux
It started being based on PCLinuxOS, but now it's based on Mandriva. The best part about Unity Linux is that you can make it into what you want.
The community-oriented Unity Linux is a minimalist distribution and live CD based on Mandriva Linux. The project's main goal is to create a base operating system from which more complete, user-oriented distribution can easily be built - either by other distribution projects or by the users themselves. _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

Why would this be any different from a net install of Debian or Ubuntu, or a base installation of Arch? _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

It's really not that much different from those Fox. But it does offer some of the tools from Mandriva, such as Mandriva Control Center, which is one of the best CC around.
It does have a good polished look & feel to it. Sometimes that can be hard to accomplish doing a netinstall compared to a full install.
I was just spreading the word around. In fact, I've gotten lazy over time, now I'm using full distros more than netinstalls, less work. _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

Looks nice Ghosty, but it hardly seems much differnet to Mint.
Maybe they will merge to make Minty Unity or a Mint Unit..
Personally I am looking forward to the release of Chakra.
Built around Arch...German based thoroughness...

Well, in case you haven't noticed the admins at Unity Linux have been very busy lately. The forum got a new theme and it switched over to MyBB, then our svn and issue tracker have merged. Also, we have a new Wiki. Now it's to get all these sites populated with content and get the community interacting. _________________ iedge card |
