ps- can you believe the iPad sales and prices on ebay already?? must be non-US buyers. I'm thinkin many people bought 2 and sold one to lower their cost. they are going for $100-200 over US cost. |
Yeah, I was thinking what are they morons. Just buy it from apple. |

| Well I assume these are non-Us buyers who want one in April. many parts of the world have unsspecified or later release dates and can not order it from Apple US. |

| I seen one that said absolutely no International bidders, and it was still higher than the apple store. |

That will probably still be cheaper or at least on pair with the European pricing. _________________ Phil

Shipping and insurance gotta be pricey from US. maybe it's cheaper from China directly!
I do wish Apple could figure a way to use US production labor at least partially. they do with their customer service, where others use India etc.
I guess it takes a lot of Chinese to churn out hundreds of thousands of iPads per month, but still Apple could lead the way. I'd pay a little more I guess, but then again, is US labor better than China. hmm. Apple makes more margin profits than most, if any US electronics company can do it. Apple could.
Don't you love it on the box where it says - 'Designed in California, US.

Everything is made and designed in China. That includes the box too. |

Ordered the 16GB WiFi on Saturday. I'm mostly going to use it for surfing the net and reading books, so it should be more than enough. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Okay, I made it through the first hurdle of not buying into the first generation iPad. I just need to overcome the temptation of April 3rd now. I think it should be clear sailing from there, even with a WWDC speed bump. |

It seems like time is standing still. I wish that April 3rd would hurry up! |

Didn't order, for my needs I can't quite see it ...yet.
Even tho I see the specs page, in my mind I was imagining the iPad kinda the size of an old clipboard, then I figured maybe a llittle smaller than an 8xll sheet of paper. Not.
The screen is actually 5.8" wide by 7.75" high, about the size of a 5x7 photo. Is that right? I used an online calculator for a 4:3 screen at 9.7" diag.
I can see why they went for 4:3 aspect. 16:9 at this size would be very limited.
It looked bigger in the demo'ers manhands. |
