Greeting's peeps , Im new here and would like to know which cable is needed .
Have purchased a BenQ G2420HDBL 24" LED monitor which has a DVI-D
socket . Im after using this as a second display so have the 'displayport' DVI adaptor .
Now as for a cable , do i need DVI-D to DVD-D Dual link ' im unsure about the dual link part , is this necessary for use with the displayport .
Any input would be helpful much thank's |

ah! As i've not received the displayport adapter just yet this might be the difference ' Not having purchased from apple with the 24 pins & spade connector . It could be a third-party adaptor with the extra 4 pins around the spade . This might mean a lead with two different ends .
If my order does turn out to be an original Apple product then i'll just go with the DVI-D dual . |

The 4 pins around the spade are for analog signals - a DVI-I
You don't need to spend extra for the dual link cable as the standard mini DP to DVI-D is single link but will accept a dual-link cable.
There is Apple's high end dual-link adapter but that isn't needed for you as your monitor's resolution is within the single-link support range. |
