I think that I'll be holding off until a fix comes out.

That's very interesting and mysterious. Only issue I had was when I tried synching with MobileMe/iWeb, it got super slow and I got the color wheel for about 3 minutes ...only happened once. Overall I'm very happy with Aperture 3 though, and hope to buy it within a week or so (I downloaded the trial). It's a huge improvement over Aperture 2 and I love the face recognition feature - makes me feel like a Dept. of Homeland Security employee.

I upgraded when it first came out, overall I like it, but god is it slow. Occasionally it seems to want to hog all resources on my MBP, not anywhere to the same extent as what others seem to be reporting, but it is quite a bit slower than version 2.

I seem to be doing okay with a medium-size library when it comes to performance and memory consumption. I'm thinking the reported problems have something to do with importing a large library and having Faces make its initial run. Then again, I'm not sure if that explains the issues ez061111 is reporting. There could be a nasty memory leak under certain circumstances. Either way, here's hoping that Apple comes out with a fix soon.
