I've been in the Apple Store this afternoon and was having a play on the 27" iMac, it was gorgeous Razz I definitely need a screen size like that.

I normally turn off my iMac, mainly due to me being at work all of the next day so I don't need it to be left in sleep mode.

On my Macbook Pro which I use when out and about, I prefer to have it quick starting, so I have always used the sleep option.

I have had a power meter connected to my iMac in the past and Sleep and Off are both very very low, approx 1W. So I wouldn't expect any issues with either choice.

Although my Hard Drive runs a little warmer than yours. Between 50 & 54. Does that seem too hot?

Have I read them? I lived them & other issues since Dec 25th. I'm part of approx. 500 people on Apple Discussions returning iMac after iMac for Screen Flicker, Yellow Tinge, Loud HD & Fans, Screen Whistling Sound, etc...
This has been wuite the mess but Apple took care of me in the end and upgraded my base 21.5 "model to a 27".

Yes, the 2nd Firmware Update for the Display helped most people. When I got mine, both Updates were applied already. 3 Days so far, No Flicker. I love this iMac!

I asked if you read them is because a few people had there screen turn black.

I also have been reading these problems since early november, Way before Dec 25th Smile

The 27" is wider its made to keep parts away from each other so the rig will run cool Wink

You liking it? Its a great machine Very Happy

Yes Ok Tales! Yea there is a lot of issues. I've been on Apple Discussions since early November. I must have posted 700 posts. And that's not exaggerating. Smile My Apple rep from Executive Customer Relations was the best. She called me an hour ago, just to see if I'm ok. Incredible Customer Service, like I've never known before. Not for 1 second, did I worry that my issues weren't going to be taking care of. A great feeling.

Feel The Love!! Smile

My 20" iMac died on the 10th of September AC ran out on the 8th, a AASP said it would be $500 to fix, he lost my HD. Gave me a HD from a recycled Mac Book
I had Latin Music Bank statements (she was a Banker) & pics of her unborn baby! They still insisted it was my HD!

I found someone on craigslist that said he would do it for $100 I buy the HD.

It turned out the tech i found on CL was a AASP & Apple felt bad about the way the Brooklyn AASP lied & send the CL AASP after he gave them his AASP # a bigger HD & paid him to install it in my 20" iMac. They fixed it for free Very Happy

My Apple Customer Relations Rep called every day about the 20" iMac & helped me return three 24" faulty iMacs without appointments. Ended up with a 27" iMac that didn't have any problems!

Love there Customer Relations!!!

Dino, Did you get AC yet?
