How to share a bluetooth mac keyboard and mouse with vista

I have my old vista pc connected to the same monitor as my mac mini. I recently bought a bluetooth adapter in hopes of using just one keyboard and mouse between the two computers. It might be a little cumbersome - lock one and unlock the other - since the signals will be going to both of them at all times.

Has anyone done this? The adapter I bought never found my apple mouse or keyboard. After further research it looks like apple recommends the d-link dbt-120 which is an eyesore compared to my little iogear adapter but getting something to work would be nice.

Does this sound doable or is there a much easier approach? In a couple years I will probably buy an powerful imac and just run bootcamp.
