NeoOffice 3.0.2 Released
Friday, January 29, 2010
Posted by: Glenn

Planamesa has announced the release of NeoOffice 3.0.2, an update to their office suite for Mac OS X. This version of the software brings native text highlighting, smoother text kerning, and the ability to choose which type of document is opened at launch. I know that's a little vague, but you can learn more about these additions and other changes to the software here. The software is available now to members of the NeoOffice Early Access Program. It will be released to the general public on February 2nd as a free download. NeoOffice 3.0.2 weighs in at 14.8MB and requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.

Thanks Glenn,

There was a recent post where people were in favor of Open Office. I personally use NeoOffice without any issues or complaints. I'm glad to see they are keeping up with the updates.

NeoOffice is a fine piece of software, but I ended up switching to iWork a while back. I'll still give it a look-see though.

NeoOffice is free as well. You only need to pay to download this update if you want it sooner than Feb 2.

pay for it what the heck!!!!!

Neooffice is free has always been free and to pay a early access fee is garbage when other sites have 3.0.2 right now for free..

and no i am not talking rapidshare or megaupload.

That's sort of a poor attitude macman. I don't use or follow NeoOffice, but I don't have a problem with developers setting up a program like that. It seems like a nice way of rewarding your donors for their support. And without that support, the software might not exist.

but here is why...

i think that if you are going to do a donation ware you should give people the option to do so.

by doing it this way what hurts them the most is when sites have the software posted early.

like i said other sites and i understand the software donation's are needed but in a poor econamy it is really rotten timing to do this.

it doesn't help software developers and it makes people go to other sources to get the software kinda sad Sad

this is why i use open office because of sites trying to make money off of free open source software..

because remember neooffice is still built on openoffice source code so basicly you are paying for open source software that is free...

The last time that I checked, the OpenOffice guys were asking for a $10 donation when you downloaded a copy. That doesn't seem too bad when compared with the alternative from Micro$oft.
