Now that 3rd parties are creating applications that run on both the iPhone and the iPod Touch, it could be argued that the Touch has more in common with the iPhone than with any other member of the iPod family.
I'd like to suggest re-naming the "iPhone" forum as the "iPhone & iPod Touch" forum to reflect the large common ground that they share and near-identical user experience, and also removing the reference to the Touch in the label for the "iPod" forum.

I agree with that in principle. However, as I don't own either of those devices, I wouldn't be posting in there very often. Makes perfect sense though. _________________ Mini 1.83 C2D 2GB/80GB/Combo, 10.5

I like it. I think it's a great idea since there's going to be so many related applications for both.
Frankly, the Touch is more like the iPhone than it is like the other iPods. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

I agree as well. I'd wait until WWDC before changing anything though |

I'm sure we can do that, but let's wait until the WWDC ends. _________________ Glenn

When the 4th gen iphone comes out in supposedly June/July there may be more considerable differences between the iphone and the Touch.
I've had both and agree the current models are very similar in operation.
---oh, I see this is an old thread. I go to other iphone forums as there is not much activity here for it. I have a jailbroken and unlocked 3G on T-Mobile. |

Yeah, it's an old thread Gigaguy. In fact, on the 5th June I was thinking of hinting to the mods by wishing the opening post a happy 2nd birthday!
I'm only bringing it back to life because I've got an iPod Touch and want to talk about apps & the such with other 123MM members. But where to post? I'm caught between the iPod forum and the iPhone forum. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

The iPhone, iPod touch and iPad will all be in the same forum now. I think that makes sense since they are all based on the iPhone OS.
Thanks again for the suggestion JB! _________________ Glenn
