How much time are you giving for the install to begin?
I know that when I installed XP the first time, I got a black screen that lasted over a minute or so and then I shut it down thinking something was wrong.
The last time I installed windows, I just left the black screen and about 2-3 minutes later the installation suddenly began. _________________ '08 MacMini C2D/2.0/RAM4GB

Hmmm. I don't know.
Maybe someone else could get in on this post that has the same machine. I just do not think it has anything to do with the monitor setup if that was working before in mac. _________________ '08 MacMini C2D/2.0/RAM4GB

| The monitor work perfect in mac, and i try 2 distinct monitors with same result, i think that the problem is the minidisplay port to vga adapter. |

Yeah, try using the mini-DVI to VGA to see if it works. My miniDisplay port sucks. _________________ ____________

I would also try it with the Mini-DVI port. That Mini DisplayPort can be a bag of hurt. Then again, what happens when you hold down you option key at startup? Do you get a picture and option to get back into Snow Leopard? Like what have you been doing after getting the black screen? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Try the mini DVI. I paid a certified Apple tech. to fix mine and he said it couldn't be done with the mini displayport because windows won't have the drivers or reconize the mini displayport.
He suggested trying the mini displayport to HDMI adapter being sold on www.monoprice.com to use one of my tv's HDMI ports. I've tried mini displayport to S-video, that didn't work either.
I'm going to try the mini DVI to VGA after work. If that doesn't work I'm ordering the mini displayport to HDMI adapter... I love how apple advertises these features, but doesn't support them...
The end result for the tech. I paid was that the mini displayport won't work on the windows side. |

I discovered that having too many USB connections caused XP to hang at boot, with a permanent black screen.
Unplug what you can and try again |
