Elgato today announced the release of their EyeTV One TV tuner. This new tuner from Elgato delivers digital TV and HDTV channels straight to a Mac or PC, enabling users to watch and record TV shows that are broadcast over-the-air for free. It also features a built-in USB cable and a standard full-size coaxial plug for easy connectivity, and comes with a copy of EyeTV 3 and support for Windows 7 and Windows Media Center out of the box. The EyeTV One tuner is available now and priced at $120.

| Sounds like a decent tuner, but I hope they release W7 drivers for the 250+ and Hybrid. I've never really been able to get mine working right. |

Beyond the price difference, I can't see why anyone would pick this over the Hybrid. But I'm not sure why anyone would buy the Hybrid either with HP basically selling the same thing for 1/3 the price. It's seems to me that Elgato could be doing better. |

OK, I give. Just what is the difference between what is now THREE different tv tuners for Mac. This new one seems to only differentiate itself from the hybrid and the other tuner by the fact that it does Not have a remote. _________________ Retired: Altair 8800, PET, TI 99/4A, Apple II

It also appears to be short the Hybrid's FM tuner, support for NTSC and Clear QAM and Roxio Toast Basic for burning. You're also missing a breakout cable for other inputs. The EyeTV 250+ is basically the same as the Hybrid. It's short the FM tuner, but includes a built-in hardware encoder for analog video. That pretty much wraps up the line at this time. I really have no idea why they came out with this product, but you can get the Hybrid on Amazon for around the same price. Which one would you rather have? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| This stick and not a dual tuner? Doesn't make sense, especially considering it's a lot less functional for only a $20 price difference. |

I just want to know one thing. When is EyeTV 4 coming out?
Honestly, we've been sitting on EyeTV 3 for like two years now. Elgato has made a couple nice changes here and there, but it seems like they should be doing something more (beyond the iPhone stuff) at this point. I'm not saying that EyeTV 3 is bad, but you get the point. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Now I wish that I had waited for a little instead of buying that stupid Roxio Easy VHS-DVD converter. _________________ 2.0 Ghz 2007 Mac mini (120 GB HD, 2 GB RAM, 10.6.4)

| Is there a place where I can find a list of non-Elgato tuners that work with the EyeTV software? |

Elgato's website and forums have a wealth of info about it. |

| I found the list. There are a couple doable tuners from Hauppauge, but you're better off just buying one from Elgato when you account for the price of the software. I guess Elgato has the corner on the Mac market, so they are going to price it up big time. |

OWC puts a refurbished Elgato Hybrid
on sale "often" for $79 including
EyeTV 3 software. If you have EyeTV
2 or 2.5 software and want to upgrade
to 3 that will set you back $79 from Elgato.
The OWC deal is like paying for the
upgrade and getting the Hybrid free or
visa versa. Or if you need the EyeTV 3
software then the OWC deal is a great
deal.
Here's the link for compatible hardware.
HP's NOT on the list. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
