New iMac Not Detecting Mini -DV Camcorders!


Has anyone ever heard of or experienced these problems with the new iMac.? This problem is reported by People who were using the same Camera with their Previous Mac with no problems. Anyone ? Thanks in advance. Possibly, due to new FW800 Port ? I don't know. I'm fishing here. I would not be happy if this happened when I use my Christmas Present (iMac). That would be a bummer since, Video Editing is a big part of what I do on my Mac. Of course, I could plug it in & it will work perfectly.

Question??

is it firewire or usb.

The reason i ask is some dv camcorders where and are firewire 400 compatible only and the new firewire standards seem to cause issues with the new imac.

i have seen only two camera that seem to have the issue but more could be out there.

one's i have seen are.

sony.

samsung.
