Hmm...the only thing keeping me from doing that is because it loses a little of the "wow" mini form factor. I've have people come over and say "is that a hard drive?" or "that's it??"

I agree. I think it takes something away from the mini when you start stacking a bunch of extra things below it.

Totally agree with you. The only thing that I have added is a 6 port USB Belkin hub which is form factored to fit the Mini.. Even the power light matches the light on the Mini.. As you can see it is really small and does not take away from the mini (in my opinion).

The thing I don't like about that hub is that it isn't powered. So if you had something that required a powered hub or you wanted to recharge and update your iPod you would have to add a powered hub as well!

The 6 port USB/FW hub is powered from the FW port. FW provides and uses more power than USB, but most FW devices provide power or are low power, so the extra power on the FW port is easily spared for USB.

I have charged my daughters iPod from the Belkin hub.

I'm about to try ordering both speakers directly from Green House.

Has anyone else managed to acquire and evaluate these speakers?

Discussion with the vendor suggest theyb should be completely plug compatible. But I'd appreciate any advice before I pull the trigger.
