|
|
Ok. I just was on J&R's site. I saw 2 iMac Models I was comparing.
The first being being
Model # MB950LLA $1199.
& the second being
Model # TD42518R $1249.
I see No difference when I do a Comparison of these 2 Models except of course the TD Model is $50. more expensive.
Apple does not have the TD Model listed on their Site. Is the TD the Older Model that J&R wants to charge $50. more for ? This makes no sense. So I Think Not!
Let me know what you knowledgeable people come up with. As always, Thank You in Advance! _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

No. I checked that. I'm thinking one is a newer Model. But they both have the SD Media Card Slot as well. So they are both new Models, it would seem.No info on the TD Model on Apple's site either. Thank you for checking though. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

| It is not a "normal" US part number. Maybe it was part of a special order that had different packaging or something? Probably J&R's description isn't quite complete. |

OK, I called J&R & they don't even know! They have something for Sale (Not In Stock) and all the Rep could say is maybe it's something new that we are getting. Called Apple & they said that they do not have that model number in their Database. So it's something J&R made up but it's not in Stock. Maybe a Package. Who knows ? Very strange. I'm not sweating it, since the computer doesn't even exist. Thanks for your replies. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

Tales,
I made the plunge on Black Friday & bought from B&H:
APP MB950LL/A
21.5" 3.06 GHz. 4GB Ram 500 GB Hard Drive for $1098.
Free Shipping & No Tax since I live in Florida.
Did not see the Bento & Parallels Deal. So I guess I missed out or they weren't including this Software on Black Friday.
Unfortunately it's my Christmas present & cannot open until Christmas Day. It arrives Dec. 3rd, So I have to wait 22 days before I can open & Use it.
But Good Things Come to Those who wait I hear. Either that or I'm just trying to make myself feel better.

btw, I'm an X New Yorker so I'm very familiar with both B&H & J&R. I've shopped at these stores my entire life. Even now living in Florida. I bought my Mac Mini (my fist Mac) from B&H almost 3 years ago. And now this iMac again from B&H. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

My 20" iMac died Sept 10 AC ran out on the 8th An AASP lost my internal HD & went through a few 24" iMacs that all failed.
And Apple replaced the failed HD for free. Because they lost my HD
It went right into the new iMacs, I have the 27" 1TB Im very happy with it. Not a big fan of glossy screens, Love the magic mouse.
Its thin & runs cool, Better speakers. Sorry you have to wait till christmas to play with it
Enjoy, great iMac! _________________ iMac 3.06ghz 27" 4gb ram C2D 1TB/LaCie d2 1T

Well I'm glad to hear your happy with your intel iMac. Yea, I'm not a glossy screen fan either but it does make the screen look brighter. When I got my Mini, I got the bare bones first Intel one made in 2007. The 1.83, No DVD Writer. So I bought a LaCie d2 DVD-RW External, an old iSight Webcam, Bluetooth (3 Battery) Keyboard & the Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. I'm using the Mini with a Samsung 940 BW 19" Monitor. But I wanted an all in one solution and a little faster processor & more ram for video editing in iMovie. When I get the iMac, I can clear some stuff off my desk. I'll put the Mini to my TV as a Media Center or just set it up in the Living Room as a second computer. Gonna get rid of my old iMac G3 & probably my eMac as well. House cleaning.
What about the nVidea GeForce 9400M Graphics. Is this graphic card any good or nothing to brag about? I know the ATI in the upper models is suppose to be better.
Yes, Mactracker is a great little App for ANY Mac. It does have every Model & every Spec on every Mac ever Made. Very Clever. _________________ iMac 27" 3.06 8GB ATI 4670 1TB HD

I found The 24" glossy iMac was way too bright. the nVidea GeForce 9400M
Is a good video card, the 27" uses the ATI Radeon HD 4670 Im happy with it. _________________ iMac 3.06ghz 27" 4gb ram C2D 1TB/LaCie d2 1T
