| A good example as to why buying Apple products makes sense. If this were an issue with any other brand of monitor, likely you'd have to live with it. |

Yeah, but this is possibly all of their stuff. From hardware to software and applications. Perhaps they should have done more testing before releasing a previous update that messed things up or whatever. I would give my left arm to be testing it right now. |

True, there can always be more testing. There is always a point were you just have to release it as is. As you said updates can also introduce new issues.
I like the fact that if it's all Apple's hardware and software the likelihood of making it all work together is much higher. There is also no finger pointing. The issue is ALL Apple's to resolve.
Just saying. I know I've always been very pleased with my Apple branded accessories working well with one another. You may pay more for them, but you end up with far fewer issues. I'll admit that they are a bit overpriced, but I tend to get more value out of them. I'm still absolutely loving my 20" ACD that I've owned for about 4 years now. I think Devo feels the same way about his 20" ACD. |

I think you guys are being too easy on them. For $900, they should be coming to your house and installing this update. |

I'm not as crazy about the new model with the glass screen and proprietary connector, but definitely. The Cinema displays are second to none when it comes to panel quality.
By the way, got the keyboard yesterday. I think that I've already adjusted. Also loving the smaller footprint on the desktop. |

I'm having a real hard time with the $899 Apple wants for the 24 inch Cinema display when Samsung has 24 inch LED LCD TV's for $300. _________________ Retired: Altair 8800, PET, TI 99/4A, Apple II

Yeah, it's becoming harder to justify the price. When we bought the story was a little different. |

Updated my firmware, but can't say I ever noticed any issues with my iSight anyway. _________________ iPhone 4 16GB

This is true and a person may very well be happy with the Samsung.
I bought a very nice high end 20" Samsung monitor prior to buying the 20" ACD because the Samsung was cheaper. I wasn't 100% happy with it and returned it. I've been 100% happy with the ACD, so I really feel like I got a better value, even though I paid more. I know I would have regretted owning the Samsung and wished I had an Apple ACD for 4+ years now.
The monitor isn't the place to cheap out. My ACD will likely be used on my next computer as well. Over 5+ years, we are talking about an insignificant amount of additional money spent, especially when it's something you look at every day for hours on end (at least I do ). |
