Just to keep you all up to date, VirtualBox updated their software to version 3.0.10 last night. The haven't posted a list of changes yet, but I believe that one of them was a memory leak. I've updated mine, and I definitely starts up faster.

My big debate now is whether to purchase an additional copy of VMware Fusion for my MacBook Pro or stick with VB on it. I own two copies of Fusion and I upgraded one to version 3 yesterday. Because I qualify for university discount, I could upgrade both copies and buy another one for the retail price of one new copy, but VirtualBox is excellent and gives me most of what I need for the kind of use I make of it. But that drag and drop tool of Fusion is very convenient when I have to go to Windows software for a language translation and then save the translation, paste it into Word PC and drag the file across to the Mac side.

Edit: VersionTracker pulled the 3.0.10 VB update this morning and in the VB forums it was suggested that wasn't quite ready. However, they indicated it may be re-posted in a few hours. I should have guessed that something was funny when it was available on VersionTracker but not VirtualBox itself.

VirtualBox 3.0.10 has apparently been fixed, as it has been reposted in VersionTracker as well as VirtualBox.org. It apparently fixes a memory leak in the previous version (among other things).
