need help to transfer dvd films to ipod touch

Hi, i have recently purchased a new 3rd gen iPod Touch (64 GB) and i would like to copy a couple of dvd films to it ie madagascar 2. I'm using Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I'm looking for something that is easy to use.

Snow Leopard QuickTime Player will do this, so you don't need to install any third party apps.

Load up your video in QTP, hit Share on the Menu Bar, then iTunes and you'll be presented with an iPhone and iPod selection. This will export your video straight into iTunes for syncing to your iPod.

Just bear in mind it's not a quick process. I've just tested out a 20 minute video on a 2.0GHz mini and it took about 24 minutes. On my 2.66GHz MacBook Pro the same video took about 17 minutes.

If you have a couple of 90 minute films, be prepared to wait a while.

Does anybody know at what settings (Bitrate, format, resolution) the iPod share option uses?
