If would be nice if the prices you list were correct, but alas they are not.

I wish that they would let you upgrade the $599 model to 2.66Ghz. They only let you go up to the 2.53Ghz on the base model.
2.66 is an upgrade available on the $799. _________________ Young Buck 2.53Ghz Intel Core 2 duo (late 2009), Enhanced USB Monica.

2.66GHz is BTO with the 2.53GHz model Tony.
Thanks for pointing out the mistake in the body K.C. _________________ Glenn

These are all very nice upgrades, but there's nothing here to make me wish that I waited to buy mine. _________________ "You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in." - Arlo Guthrie

So they should have these in stock at the Apple stores today right?
This is the perfect upgrade for me. I was set on a 2.0ghz 120GB version of the old one with 4GB of RAM. Which means I should go buy the new 2.26ghz 160GB one upgraded to 4GB of RAM.
But now I'm thinking to just spend the little bit of extra money ($110 in my case with the educational discounts) and get the 2.53ghz 320GB and 4GB of RAM one.
Going to the store now to see what's up... _________________ 1.5ghz Mac Mini (Upgrade), 1GB of RAM, 80GB HD

And the entry-level model is now 649$CAD instead of 729$CAD. And it's better than yesterday. _________________ Mac mini 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/8 GiB)

Whoo-Hoo!!! I am very pleased with this upgrade! It was very predictable too, and worth the wait and worth reading all the rumors building up to this day. This was more than a mere after thought from Apple, as it seemed to be in past upgrades or silent updates.
I still can't decide on which configuration to go with. The price increases pretty quickly from the base model with just a couple of spec bumps, so I am going to have to choose carefully.
I went with the best spec 2.26ghz the last time, and I was not disappointed. I have learned my lesson from my first mini buying experience in 2006, the 1.66ghz dual core... I could have gone higher in spec, but I was not sure what to expect from the mini and did not want to spend too much on something I may not like. Now I am a true fan boy and know better... go with the best because it is worth it. Yea, there may be buyers remorse the next day, but when it finally arrives and you see how fast it is and how much more productive you can be on such a small machine, well, that makes it all worth it in the end. |

Very tempting; I could replace my old PPC mini or the G4 Cube with one of these. The wait for these new minis is especially worthwhile for Canadian buyers as the new price is more in line with the current CAN-USA exchange rate. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I called the local Apple store and they said they wouldn't have the new mini's until the end of next week!
I have $500 worth of Visa gift cards that I want to use when buying it, I'm not sure how that'll work with the online store. Think I'll just have to continue to wait it out.
EDIT- I just called another of the local stores and the lady wouldn't answer the question directly but she said they'd have them "sooner rather than later" and "if we get some things done it could be soon" and "the macbooks and the minis will be first, then the iMacs." The vibe I was getting is that they'd be available in a couple days.
EDIT2- I called another store and they say they have the minis in, just not the server level one. Off to the store I go! _________________ 1.5ghz Mac Mini (Upgrade), 1GB of RAM, 80GB HD
