Apple Insider is reporting Intel powered PowerBook with iSight built in with Photo Booth and wide screen iBooks are coming sooner than you think.

I think this is great news. Reason why... All the dominoes will start to fall into place once the first system gets an Intel chip.
I wonder how apple is going to squeeze an iSight on the top on the PowerBook display. Does anyone know what the dimensions are for the iSight's camera and circuit board inside the new iMac? |

No, but you can bet it is tiny. The camera is not much more compex than video cameras on mobile 'phones. Perhaps Apple will even make the camera rotatable like on this 'phone: http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/images/motorolaa830.gif |

I don't know the exact dimensions. You can see a picture of the iSight module here. The one that's in the iMac looks pretty big. I'm sure they will be able to design a smaller one for the PowerBook. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I think a better example would be Sony's Vaio picturebook series from couple of years ago. I have one of these, it was a cool function. It's a shame Sony didn't bother writing drivers for them for XP, it doesn't do anything anymore.
I am trying to get it to behave running Linux but I'm having a hard time. _________________ Mac since '86

Yea, that's the kind of thing - thanks poisonfist. I bet Apple could make it smaller and look more elegant than that (not that the Sony one is bad in these respects). |
