I heard last night that Aquafire has been in the hospital for the last few weeks. He was apparently hit by a car while mountain biking. I just wanted to personally wish him a speedy recovery and let you guys know.

Cripes! Only today I was thinking about how quiet 123MM is without Aquafire's presence, and wondering where on earth he was. Get well soon, mate! _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

Bad luck always seems to come in pairs, so I'll be staying off my bike for the next few weeks.
Take it easy now Aquafire. I hope you get well soon! |

| Get well soon. Sucks that you got hit by a car. It pisses me off how poorly many drivers treat cyclists. I no longer ride my bicycle in the city because of it. I find it way too dangerous. |

| I seriously hope you get feeling better Aquafire. I've seen so many people come close to hitting cyclists on the side of the road. Like Bandit Bill said, it can be pretty dangerous out there. |

Gee its nice to visit this site.
Thanks for your concern guys.
I was side~~swiped in broad daylight, by a SUV that carried me along for a bit and then effectively slam~dunked me into the ground with great force.
Ended up with a severely busted leg and two broken arms.
( I have about 16 bits of metal work in my leg...including 2 plates, plus 14 assorted screws and pins ).
Can't remember much of the crash & don't actually remember the Moment of Impact. Maybe thats a good thing.
Thing is, the driver took off, and never looked back. ( a serious imprisonable crime in this state ) & there is no way, that he/she could not have known they hit me. (Let's face it, I'm 6ft 1" and weigh in at about 180lbs, so I am hardly invisible)
This is now my 3rd major accident involving busted bones.
(God....if your reading this.....If there is a Cosmic Joke at play...at the age of 55...I'm kinda over it OK )
My count is two busted legs, two busted arms, busted ribs, busted foot, busted hand, cracked spine and other assorted soft tissue scars.
My life so far, kinda reminds me of that Larson cartoon with the two deer hiding from a hunter, and one of them has a red circle on his chest : over which his friend looks over and says :
"Bummer of a Birthmark Hal"
Anyway, I have been in hospital for 5 weeks so far, and now I am in rehabilitation. Learning to walk again is quite strange as well as nerve-racking. (Don't want to put weight on the busted leg in case I bust it up again)
That said, I look forward to getting the hell out of hospital.
(Might take another 3 or 4 weeks)
I want to breath some free air and drink a few beers.
I'll do my best to stay in touch.
Cheers
Aqua
PS : For those of you who into medical stuff, I can tell you I opted to be semi awake when they set my leg and cut me open to take a graft of bone from my hip. I can tell you, the drugs were pretty wierd.
But at least I got some free entertainment.... _________________ Of the four X systems in the world.

That's a crazy and scary story. Unbelievable, so the person basically left you for dead. I hope they end up getting caught and go to prison for a long, long time. Disgusting.
We're pulling for your recovery. Hopefully this site helps keep you entertained a little, during your stay. |

What a bastard! I hope they string 'em up!
I've been through some rehab, and it can be interesting to say the least!
Best wishes, and I hope you catch some of those nurses!
