Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.6.1 Update via their Software Update utility and website. This includes the following fixes and improvements:
- Improves compatibility with some Sierra Wireless 3G modems
- Addresses an issue in which some printer compatibility drivers might not appear properly in the Add Printer browser
- Addresses an issue that might cause DVD playback to stop unexpectedly
- Addresses an issue that might make it difficult to remove an item from the Dock
- Resolves an issue in which the Command-Option-T keyboard shortcut would sometimes bring up the special characters menu in applications such as Mail and TextEdit
- Addresses instances in which auto account setup in Mail might not work
- Resolves issues when sending mail with certain SMTP servers
- Addresses an issue in which Motion 4 could become unresponsive
- Includes an update to Adobe Flash Player plug-in version 10.0.32.18
The Mac OS X 10.6.1 Update weighs in at 71.47MB.

| Doesn't seem like much of an update, but at least they got it out fast. |

Can't wait to update. Any word if this helps the remote issues with Plex and EyeTV? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Nope!
No problems with the update otherwise. |

The update for my CD Mac mini was only like 10MB.
It only took like a second to update though. |

Oh well, there's always hope for 10.6.2. Thanks for checking though Ben. I'm still at work for a couple hours. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Everything seems to be working fine, but I have two new non-repaired SUID files in Disk Utility.
| Quote: | Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DesktopServicesPriv.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired. |
I know that should be a non-issue, but I just wanted to mention them for possible comparison. |

No problems with the update here. Snow Leopard still feels nice and speedy. |

I sincerely hope they fix that bug soon. None of my media applications (Plex, Hulu, Boxee) are working right. |

| No problems with the update here either. I just had to install Rosetta for the mini-documentaries on the Beatles remastered CDs. I really wanted to keep clear of Rosetta on Snow Leopard, but you gotta do what you gotta do. |

For me, the SMTP issue is still unresolved. It takes a good minute for Mail to hook up to my ISP'S mail server. _________________ "You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in." - Arlo Guthrie

Odd, my mini's 10.6.1 update was only 9.8MB. On my MacBook Pro it's 75.1MB. _________________ iPhone 4 16GB

I could be wrong, but I think the Intel GMA 950 Mac minis are running less. It could also have something to do with not needing to upgrade Flash. Like if you've already upgraded to 10.0.32.18. |

Mine came in at 75MB with a 2009 Mac mini that was entirely up to date. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
