The Pixelmator Team today announced the release of Pixelmator 1.5, an update to their image editing software for Mac OS X. This release, dubbed Spider, includes a new set of Web tools with a Save for Web option and Web Color plug-in for the Apple Color Palette, new Slice and Trim tools, Info Labels, compatibility for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and numerous bug fixes. Pixelmator 1.5 is a free update for all current Pixelmator users. It weighs in at 30MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later. For new users, the software is priced at $59.

Hopefully I will be able to replace ImageReady CS2 with Pixelmator!
edit: still a few rough corners (missing options for dithering for GIF and indexed PNG, seems like there's no optimisation past 128 colors, etc) but for a first release that supports web tools, it's excellent! _________________ Mac mini 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/8 GiB)

| I still find myself gravitating towards PS more often, but I love this application. |

If only Pixelmator would include support for the CMYK colour model; it could then compete with bigger fish than 'Elements'. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b
