I mean between DVDs and iTunes Movies SD & HD do you really want to spend more money for another optical format that may not last 5 years?
Here's a example of my current setup that's fine with 480p and 720p movies from iTunes!

I'm new to Blu-ray thing with a PS3 Slim, but I think we should have the option. |

+1
I don't own or even rent that many Blu-ray discs, but it would be nice playing them on a Mac. |

I've never really been interested in what Blue Ray has to offer. I'm happy with Standard Definition on my computer monitor.
Also as I like to store stuff on my External HDD I'm happier with them ripped to something like Xvid so they take up less space. I'd happily sacrifice a little picture quality compared against excessive storage space

I use a HTPC running Vista Ultimate to watch BD movies, rarely do I use my PS3 too. I used to buy and rent BD movies like crazy (any where from 1-3 a week), but lately I've only been buying 1-2 a month (and usually only if they come with the digital copy or a DVD that I can use HandBrake on). I find myself renting and buying on iTunes or Amazon's digital store a lot more often lately. ...I just prefer to not carry a disk around, and maybe that's just cause I travel more often lately.
...so I would love it if Apple supported BD's, but I could live with iTunes rentals and purchases.
Like LE Studios, I have also considered selling my BD's, but sometimes I have second thoughts. |

Wow, that's a lot of digital content.
Honestly, I didn't even know Mac's could do 5.1 audio, or that it had to be turned on in iTunes. Where would you configure that? |

It's actually pretty hard to ruin a Blu-ray disc with scratches, unless you really gouge it deep. That's one of the benefits Blu-ray has over DVD. It has a scratch resistant coating.
Nice speakers by the way. |

It could be nice, but prices need to come down and work well on a Mac Mini for me to be really interested.
Also easy to backup would also be nice, but with the huge space disks take up, it would be very easy to run out of hard disk space. |
