Apple has released Security Update 2009-004 for Leopard and Tiger (PPC) via their Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, this update is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. You can learn more about the security contents of this update over here. It should also be noted that previous security updates have been incorporated into this security update. The update requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later and weighs in at 10.7MB for Leopard, 166MB for Tiger, and 76.1MB for Tiger PPC.

Hi Glenn,
It looks as though the Intel/Tiger update is 166MB in size and the PPC/Tiger update is 130MB -- but the Leopard download is only 10.1MB (phew!).

Apple has an error on the Security Update 2009-004 for Leopard page. They have the standalone update listed at 166MB, but it's only 10.7MB when you click through to download.
I will correct things now.
Thanks JB!
Edit: They also have the update for Tiger PPC wrong. It weighs in at 76.1MB when you click through. _________________ Glenn

| I don't know how much of a threat this DNS server issue was to the average person on safe sites, but I'm glad to see Apple release a patch so soon. |
