|
|
Ok I have a little problem. The other day my daughter was complaining that the disk drive in the eMac wasn't working right. She had put CD ROM in it and it never showed up on the computer and she couldn't get it to eject. So long story short I got the CD out and decided to replace the faulty Combo Drive with a Super Drive that I have. So no problem I pull the eMac apart and replace the drive with very little difficulty and put the thing all back together and it wouldn't start up! No power, nothing happening so I take the white plastic case off and discover that the power button wire that connects to the power supply had been pulled out of the connector at the power supply. So I checked eBay and found one for $6 but unfortunately they want $15 to ship the damn thing that weighs less then an ounce! So I decided that if I could figure out which wire go into which connector I would just hold them in place with a small spot of solder.
There are 3 wires (red, green and black) that I need to put back into the connector. Does anyone here know what order that need to be in? Maybe photo or previous experience with this. I haven't been able to find anything online for this!

Did you ever fix it? I might have a service manual on one of my hard drives. I'll take a look.
I had an eMac for a while, but gave up on it with the raster shift deal. |

Found it.
It looks like red, green, black at this end. I would assume it's the same on the other side.
I can send you the entire manual if you want. I don't really see much else at first glance, but you might be able to make better use of it. |

Man that's a pain.
I almost did the same thing with my Emac.
on another note watch out for screen issues the emacs where known for bad resisters that control the monitor. |

Thanks for looking for me. The part that pulled out is the other side that connects to the power supply side. I was going to try working on it thhis weekend and or buy a new wire to fix it. If the manual is in electronic (PDF) form That would be great if you could send it to me. hate to put you thru the trouble of shipping it via snail mail. _________________ 13' Macbook 2.0ghz C2D w/2gb RAM and 120gb HD
