| I just started looking around at AppleCare for a MacBook Pro. Anyone know of a killer deal from a reputable dealer? Amazon is coming it at $262 with free shipping. |

Have you checked ebay?
I bought AC for my mini from a seller on Ebay, she e-mailed me the info, I registered online, done and done. Mini is at the Apple Store now being worked on...
Good luck! _________________ --Marcus

| I'll have to concur with imola. eBay is the way to go. I just picked up AppleCare for both of my iPhones for $40/each versus $70/each from Apple or $46/each from Amazon. |

I know you can get Apple Care on ebay. What I fail to understand is
a) who are the sellers ?
b) why is it cheaper than it is with Apple ? Where do they make their profit ?
c) what happens if you experience difficulties with your Mac ? You call Apple Care ? _________________ iMac 2010, 21.5", 8Gb of RAM

I'm not a big eBay guy, but I will look into more. I have until the end of October. I really just wanted to get a jump start.
Thanks for the PM Cypher! I wrote you a little something back.
And thanks for the link zedtvl! I haven't heard of the company before, so I will need to do a little research on them. |

Not sure on a,
When I bought mine I only received the registration code by e-mail, I bought mine from oversea's so I didn't want a card box shipping either. there was no retail package so maybe that’s why its cheaper.
No worries there, when you register the code you do so on Apples website, and its logged against your hardware. You can check everything by logging into your account, you also can print out the AppleCare Protection Plan Certificate, from there and I think they also emailed you confirmation. _________________ Phil

Personally, I avoid AppleCare. I simply buy with a major credit card (in my case, my AmEx card)...which effectively doubles the original warranty (giving me two years of coverage).
Anyone that knows me here knows that two years is a lifetime for me to keep a mac. [/quote] _________________ -=iMav=-

A) I don't care...
B) I don't know why it is cheaper, I don't know how they make any profit, but again, I don't care...
C) I took my mini in for service on Saturday to the local Apple Store, that is where it is currently being worked on under my Apple Care warranty, which was purchased on ebay... _________________ --Marcus

| My warranty ends on the 17th, so I finally ordered mine up today. I decided to take a chance on a deal from eBay for $149. I'm just waiting for the person to send me the enrollment code now. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly! |
