I bet this breaks Palm Pre's ability to sync with iTunes. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I'm not installing this in fear of losing my unlock on my 3G. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

I think it's stupid of Apple to block other MP3 players and phones out of iTunes, but what are you going to do? |

engadget confirmed it does stop the Pre from syncing. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I can understand why Apple wants to block other vendors out of iTunes, but this is probably going to be a win-win for Palm. I'm sure they'll break it back in a couple of days. And by doing this it will keep them and the Pre in the news. We're really the ones that will suffer by having to keep iTunes updated, while they go back and forth with the battle. Therefore, I'm not even bothering with another iTunes update until there are new features added. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

engadget said something similar, Palm breaks it, Apple fixes it, Palm breaks it, apple fixes it, it'll be fun to watch. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

It will be fun to watch, but I don't want to be downloading iTunes and agreeing to the license agreement every other week. Who needs that hassle? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I think Palm still wins this round. What Pre user is going to update to 8.2.1 anyways? |

| I think Apple has the right to protect their investment and work in iTunes. I just don't want the nuisance of minor updates while battle goes on. So here's hoping that Palm can't break whatever Apple changed in 8.2.1. |

| Well, it only took Palm a week to break it back. I just read on Engadget that webOS 1.1.0 supports iTunes 8.2.1. I guess we'll be seeing iTunes 8.2.2 shortly. |

| Two updates in and I am already tired of this war. Apple should just move on to making iTunes better for anyone that wants to use the software. I don't want to see a series of "we break, you try to fix" updates either. If Apple wants to stop them again, at least bundle the verification stuff in with a significant update. |
