|
|
Does anybody know of any issues with Warcraft III running in Parallels with the newest Mac Mini? When I try to launch the program under a virtual XP SP3 machine, it hangs and tells me that Directx 8.1 is not installed. Any suggestions?
Has anybody had luck running the Mac version of WC3 lately? Last year when I tried, it crashed too often to be useful (I play online). |

Yes.. In fact because parallels doesn't use your graphics card at full capacity or full take over mode which is needed for warcraft III to function sorry.
That error is because parallels is using a shared graphics adapter and you need to be able to have full control for direct x 8 to run certain titles. |

My son has been playing WOW for almost a year now on his older 1.66Ghz Mini with no issues at all.
Probably worth installing the Mac version, it has been very stable for him, no crashes, ever. _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Duh... but made by the same people, no?
I'm fairly certain I know the difference between WOW and Warcraft III
Thanks.
Crossover for Mac will most likely create the same issues. My point was to try the native Mac version. _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Why not run XP from Bootcamp? It's the only way to go if you want to run PC games on the Mac. XP, Vista and Windows 7 all run beautifully. |
