Does Halo even run well on the Minis? Enemy Territory runs like crap, so I haven't even bothered trying Halo. _________________ Computer Engineer

| seems ok on my mini (1.42, 512 sdram) on default video settings.....(can be a bit laggy with online multiplayer with loads of vehicles etc, but that could be internet connection rather than my mac!) |

| Only time I have trouble is when I host games, then it can get laggy. But for the most part it runs better than expected, given the hardware. |

I have been playing the demo on an old eMac with pretty much the same specs as the low end Mini. It has playable frame rates throughout. The only problem is multiplayer, but that is only because of other people with laggy connections. |

| Other than when I actually host a game on my Mini, I really don't have to much of a problem with multiplayer. I can't host them anyway because of the firewall we use here at my office. If anyone has an extra, faster machine at home or something they could use as a server, then the rest of us could join it on our Minis maybe...? |

I'd glady play some Halo with the folks here over xbox live, but after playing on xbox I'd never want to play on my Mini. _________________ 1.5ghz Mac Mini (Upgrade), 1GB of RAM, 80GB HD

Why not Halo on the computer is fun, and the computer version has better graphics and more weapons than the original Halo for the Xbox. Plus, playing multiplayer has NO (read it, NO) fee for playing with other people |

Plus, you can use any USB-based keyboard or controller you want, instead of being stuck with that ridiculous Xbox contraption.

| Does anyone know if mac halo players play against pc users online, or just other mac players? I am considering getting a copy for my pc aswell as my mac, so my brother and I can both play against each other online. |

From what I have heard, you can Halo multiplayer is based off a dual system server. But you had better find someone else to confirm that. |

Mac and PC users whom are both using Halo 1.x can play together online or LAN. PC users running Halo Custom Edition cannot host/join Mac players/servers, however. There's been a tiny bit of progress porting Halo Custom Edition maps to Halo for Mac, but so far only one map has come out successful (NMC), though it is a good one.
