I just past 6500 songs. Only 20-30 of them are from the iTunes Music Store. The rest are from CDs and P2P. I can't wait to get my new 5G iPod. It shipped on Thursday. |

2890 songs and 15 podcasts; all but about 10 songs from my CDs. My first project is to burn all of my VHS tapes onto DVD. After I finish that, I'll move on to ripping all of my CDs.

Let's try to keep statements of questionable legality out of the forums. I've seen issues with seemingly innocent statements get blown up big and trouble ensues.
On that note, I have 3702 and I subscribe to 2 podcasts I never listen to. _________________ Computer Engineer

I have 6651 files in iTunes, 13 are podcasts. A very significant part of my music collections comes from dozens and dozens of Frank Zappa CDs.
95% of my songs are from many years worth of CDs. Lately I seldom buy CDs and instead shop at ITMS.
I spent a weekend a few months ago downloading album artwork files for all of my ripped CDs. _________________ http://skeptichosting.com/

Do you know about Fetch Art for iTunes? It's a great way to get album art. I have 3861 songs in iTunes. Most are from my CD collection and the ITMS. Some of my favorite artists are the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Rush, Bob Dlyan, Police, 311, and U2. Frank Zappa and Dweezil are cool. Have you ever listened to Havin' a Bad Day? I love that album! _________________ 2.4GHz MacBook Pro/4GB/320GB HD

Yes, that's how I got my artwork for my CDs.

95% of them are from CDs. I have around 400 of them. I don't see anything wrong with using P2P to download hard to find or obscure albums. |

42 songs on iTunes all from P2P(Rage Against the Machine, Tool, concord dawn and Team America world police(funny)), my CD-R drive is f'd on my current mac so i can't copy music CDs.
theres nothing wrong with p2p as long as you dont sell the music. _________________ Core Solo MacMini owner.

Besides the fact that it's illegal?

Again, illegal. Profiting off the sale of this music just makes it MORE illegal.
I also specifically said questionable content, not necesarily strictly illegal in case I'm actually wrong here, though I think I'm right. Mod, can you step in here and sort this out as I would think you would have vested interest in this turn of conversation.
The internet isn't anonymous, people. If not for your sake, then respect the site enough so that it doesn't have to deal with legal issues; it's hard enough to work a business without that. It's more about respect for this site than anything. _________________ Computer Engineer
