What would you all consider the best netbook for under $400, preferably $300.
requirements:
10" screen
6-cell battery
4 hour minimum battery life
highly compatible with Ubuntu Netbook remix and/or Fedora (refer to this page for models in Tier 1) _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I haven't gotten a chance to play with one myself very much, so maybe I'm not the best person to speak. But I am seriously considering getting one (I'm just lagging as usual) and have done a lot of research. The one that currently comes to mind that fits those requirements would be a MSI Wind U100. If/when I get one, if nothing better is released by that time, that would be my choice. _________________ Mercury TiBook 400MHz, 1GB RAM, 120GB HD, Airport

It seems to fit the bill quite well after looking over it. The U120 or U123 come with a 6 cell so those are looking like they are my picks so far. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I'm very happy with my Wind 100; no problem running UNR and the price has come down a lot since I bought mine last year. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT
