Apple today released iLife Support 9.0.3, iMovie 8.0.3, iDVD 7.0.4 and iPhoto 8.0.3 via their Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the release notes, the iLife 9.0.3 update addresses general compatibility issues, improves overall stability for the Media Browser, and fixes a number of other minor issues. The update is recommended for all users of iLife '09, iWork '09, and Aperture 2 and requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later.
The iMovie 8.03 update addresses general compatibility issues, improves overall stability and fixes a number of other minor issues. The issues addressed include support for 720p AVCHD Lite cameras and camcorders, deleting a beat marker no longer modifies the project duration, and the Video Effects palette now uses the correct thumbnail for still images. The iMovie 8.03 update is recommended for all users of iMovie '09 and requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later.
The iDVD 7.0.4 update addresses general compatibility issues and fixes an issue where iDVD is unable to add title/comment to an image in the image details list. This update is recommended for all users of iDVD version 7 and requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later.
The iPhoto 8.0.3 update addresses general compatibility, improves overall stability and fixes a number of issues. This includes slideshow playback, location (GPS) info embedded in emailed photos and exported JPEGs, and publishing to MobileMe, Facebook, and Flickr. The iPhoto 8.0.3 update is recommended for all users of iPhoto 8.x and requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later.
Apple also released Camera RAW Compatibility Update 2.6 today. This update extends RAW image compatibility to Canon EOS 500D, Canon Rebel T1i, Canon EOS Kiss Digital X3, Nikon D5000, and Olympus E-30 cameras in Aperture 2, iPhoto '08, and iPhoto '09.

I wonder if they snuck in the 720p AVCHD support in iMovie for the new iPhone?

Has anyone applied this latest ilife update? Software update seems to hang my machine before it has even applied that update (the other updates worked fine).

No problems here. I would try restarting your Mac mini and firing up SU again. If it still hangs, try deleting the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file from your ~/Library/Preferences folder and restart your Mac mini again. That did it for me once. |

Strange. Software Update hung both of my machines when ilife update was the first item on the list. I had to power cycle them, then install the other (non-ilife) updates using Software Updater, then install ilife update manually.

I don't know what else you had sitting in Software Update, but mine updated all at once. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I found iPhoto '09 to be a little slow and buggy at first, but it's doing much better for me after the last few updates.
