I had one yesterday and it scared the crap out of me. I went to the ER and they did a CT scan of my brain to make sure that I didn't have a stroke. It was okay though.
This is just the way mine looked.

I have had my fair share of burst blood vessels in the eye, but nothing like that...
But you did the right thing by going to a Doctor.

Turns out that it was more serious. It happened again on Wednesday of last week and my wife took me to the ER. They found I had a torn retina and did emergency surgery on my eye. Needless to say, I'm going to be walking around like a pirate for a while here. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Get well soon!
As for ocular migraines, yes, I have. I get them about 3x a year. That video does a fairly good job of describing mine, though the area inside the patch is totally blind to me. It's really scary at times, though I usually take a few ibuprofen, drink a bunch of water, and try to get a nap if I can. Within an hour or two, they've usually faded away, and the pain goes away soon afterwards.
Thankfully, they're fairly rare for me. When I got two of them in one month a few years back, I saw a specialist a few times, and he basically explained to me that the knowledge of the brain, and in particular, migraines is very limited. We tend to over-treat with heavy drugs, which just ease the symptoms. For deep sufferers, it makes sense, but for people like me, some dietary changes helped. I try to have a much larger intake of water through the day, plus be sure I snack fairly regularly to keep my blood sugar fairly level. He had me take a logbook and whenever I got a migraine, ocular migraine, or just headache, I had to record details like how much sleep I got the night before, water and food intake, stress level, etc. I found that food and water were my biggest variables I could easily control. |

Don't worry about reading. Don't strain your eyes...
Hope you can wander down to the local.
It will improve your eyesight.

Never knew that.
That's not good esp. when you consider that cinnamon is one of nature's blood sugar reducers. |

How did you find out you had an allergy...?

cinnabun first time I went I had three. man they were good. worst headache i ever had. instant relief upon vomiting . So I new it was the bun. Wrote a letter to the company for a list of ingredients hoping for some wild card and not the cinnamon. No go after some experiments and research I found it is not the cinnamon but a mold that grows only on cinnamon so if you get a good batch fine if you get a bad batch migrane. Thailand has the best in terms of lack of mold. So sometimes I have some chai tea from the right companies and I am fine. Mexican cinnamon is notorious for the contamination of the crop. So if I don't know the product it is a no go. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

It's cheese, chocolate and peanut butter for me. I never really noticed anything with cinnamon. I'm going to take note though. _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)
