Rogue Amoeba Releases Airfoil 3.3

Rogue Amoeba today announced the release of Airfoil 3.3. With Airfoil you can take audio from any application and send to your AirPort Express, Apple TV, or other Macs and PCs running Airfoil Speakers. The big news with this release is that it adds support for Airfoil Speakers Touch (App Store link). This is a free new application that allows you to stream audio to your iPhone or iPod touch over a local network. Airfoil 3.3 also includes improved Airfoil Speakers, Soundflower 1.4.2, Instant Hijack 2.1.1 and a bunch of fixes. A full list of these improvements can be seen here. Airfoil 3.3 is priced at $25 and requires Mac OS X 10.4.0 or later.

| Me likes! I just got it going with Sirius to my iPhone. I wish that it worked over the internet and 3G, but it's going to be nice for out on the deck or when I don't want to bother anyone. The audio quality isn't bad either. |

| You can stream from Front Row to an Airport Express with Airfoil, right? It's crazy that Apple doesn't support that functionality. |

Airfoil will stream anything. You can output the entire system with Soundflower or just go with individual applications like Front Row or Safari. It really works well. |

| just wanted to add a *yay!* for a really great application! this enables us to stream online radio from the BBC iPlayer to our stereo - so very cool and frees us from staring at the computer screen |

I use the System Audio setting for eveything. This also gives you volume control with the Apple Remote in Front Row.

Word! This app turns the AE into something way more valuable. It's like a must have for AE owners. |
