Boxee Releases Remote Application

Boxee has announced the release of their Boxee Remote application for the iPhone and iPod touch. The free application basically allows users to control Boxee over their wireless network. For actually maneuvering around in Boxee, the remote offers two modes called Gesture and Buttons. The Gesture mode is sort of like using a trackpad. You drag a Boxee logo around on the screen and it follows your movements. Clicking the Boxee logo then acts as select, play or pause. Buttons mode is set up more like a traditional remote control. It offers up, down, left, right, and select buttons on the screen. It should also be noted that the application allows users to use the keyboard on their iPhone or iPod touch to input text. So all in all, it's pretty handy.

Maybe overall, but not if you simply need something for Boxee. It's also free and offers the same level of control. It doesn't require a background service to be running either.

| The gesture mode is pretty clever. I don't think that I've used anything quite like that before. |

Interesting thing - I have the windows beta of boxee. Hulu works on it. |
