Could a mini update be far behind? Will new mini owners be given a discount on Tiger? _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

Do new Mac owners typically get a discount when a new OS is release relatively soon after their hardware purchase?? _________________ -=iMav=-

Yes they do but they don't really go back that far. I have a feeling I’m going to have to shell out another $100 for Tiger. Some proof of purchase coupons were in my box so I have my fingers crossed for some sort of deal. Did you have any coupons in yours? _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

Well, what do ya know, I DO have those. (sheet of paper with 4 "coupons" on it)
Now I need to go check the other minis'...............
...........interesting...MY mini came with iLife '05 on the standard media (no separate media) and has coupons that say OS X and iLife '05. My kids' two minis have separate iLife '05 media and ONLY iLife '05 coupons. _________________ -=iMav=-

The bigger question is will they do anything for us? I'm looking so forward to Tiger with Spotlight and Safari RSS and this http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000807035571/ ...so cool! _________________ 14" 1.25GHz G4 iBook (died)

| I have my doubts about Tiger coming out in early April. My bet is Tiger will launch during WWDC2005. I will not complain if it does come in April. Man ThinkSecret is running on thin ice to come out with this news. |

That video is amazing but with the 32MB video in the mini it may not look that great. |

So has anyone heard anything definitive about whether the Mini (or the ATI 9200 in it, actually) will support the Core Image portion of Tiger?
It's not a make-or-break kind of issue... I'm just curious because it's been talked about, but I've never heard a real answer. It seems like people don't even agree how much of a change Core Image will be for an average desktop.... |

The 9200 will not support core image. Like you I've heard and read so many things. I just think it will be scaled back and you won't get the full features. |

That just seems like fluff to me. Hardly useful. If core image is just eye candy, I can definitely live without it... _________________ -=iMav=-

Eye candy and a beautiful UI are a big reason why people are switching to the Mac. It might be fluff but it's still cool and sometimes bigger things come from these small little applications. |

A mini update aready...
It seems like 50% of the people out there are still waiting to get theirs! If Apple does update the mini they better put the video card at the top of the list. _________________ 1.42ghz Mac mini
