However, I'm quite willing to drop some $$ for two new 15" PowerBooks if they get an update announced today.

Urg. This is what iLounge has to say about live updates. I'll have to check MacTeens.

Live updates will not be possible due to the lack of Wi-Fi and bad cellular coverage or intentional blockage of cellular service at the California Theater in San Jose. Other sites, including popular gadget site Engadget, have also suspended their live coverage of the event for the same problems. |

Oh, you're a better man than I if you can wait for the Mactel PowerBooks.
I'd be happy to snag a PPC PowerBook (if they update them) and sit out Rev A of the Mactel stuff. Not that I expect any problems, but ... I know I couldn't wait sometime until next year to get one. |

| Quote: | | A new application is announced, named "Front Row", a new way to enjoy your music, video and pictures. Controlled by an iPod style remote, the on screen interface is optimal for viewing at a distance (say, your couch). He takes note to compare the remote control, whereas the Apple remote has six, and the nearest competitor, Windows Media Center, has over 40. |
Hope it runs on the mini! |

| I couldn't resist it. I just ordered the new iPod. My 3G was on its last legs. It took for ever to checkout. |

| Um, yeah. I think I said a few posts back that I didn't want one, but if I find out that you can use TiVoTool/iTunes to copy over shows from TiVo, I might have to get one... Argh |
