Guys, we are still having major issues with the server. I'm looking around for a new server as we speak.

123Macmini.com | I read somewhere that Apple just released some new computers this week, you should look into one of those |

Appreciate the effort your putting in Charles. I've been trying to reply to this topic (and others) on and off since you posted the apology.
I can view a few posts ok but when I try to post it just times out and then I can't get back on. Its weird as when I do come back I can see there have been plenty of new posts.
Fingers crossed this one posts before it times out.

Woo Hoo.. that one worked.
I never normally have any problems with the server, its weird how it just started immediately after the new Apple Desktop line up was announced. Could it just be your host throttling your connection after a huge peak ? _________________ Phil

No. We are having issues with the physical box and memory. The high traffic only made things worse. I'm just trying to baby things along until the weekend at this point. |

You're not the only one Cypher, that's exactly what I'm getting. That server must hate Brits... _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

It probably was hit or miss. That being said, it looks like you were able to post this morning.
To be honest , we're not really having issues with the forums.
It's a combo of three things:
1. High traffic to 123Macmini.com homepage.
2. A memory shortage and leak on our server.
3. Flooding from certain ranges that needed to be blocked.

I was having many of the same issues yesterday. I just chalked it up to the site being busy. It looks to be working better this morning though. I hope you can get things straightened out Charles. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I think you're right there Johnny - even the ones that live in Asia...

got any Silly Putty? That can be used as a temporary fix to most leaks

My range never floods so, I'm not sure what the answer is to that......

Well, things seem to be running a little better now. I've been able to tune a few things here and there on the backend. I'm not sure we are out of the woods yet with spikes, but we'll have to make those adjustments when them come. Tomorrow should be the first test.

I think Brian or Glenn did that on Tuesday. Plus, most pages on the site have been updated to include info on the new Mac minis. That would include the buyers guide, specs page and reviews page. The photo gallery and video pages should also be updated soon with new content.

Charles,
I'm a bit confused with who is who in admin. There are PMs in ans answers to yours/admin's that haven't been collected from my outbox for several days. Is this a forum software glitch?

Charles if you changed the timing on this
"You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while."
I find the new timing way too slow. |
