Apple Updates Mac mini

We're pretty sure that the Mac mini will be updated this morning. In fact, the new numbers have already shown up on Amazon.com. More soon!
[Update:] Apple has updated the Mac mini. Available in two models, the new Mac mini features a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, up to 320GB Serial ATA hard drive, five USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800 and a SuperDrive. The Mac mini also features NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics for up to five times better graphics performance than before and now with dual display support can drive two Apple or third-party displays with Mini DisplayPort or DVI connections. Using less than 13 watts of power at idle, up to 10 times less power than a typical desktop PC, the new Mac mini is the most energy efficient desktop in the world.
The new 2.0GHz Mac mini, for a suggested retail price of $599 (US), includes:
- 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3MB shared L2 cache;
- 1GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, expandable to 4GB;
- NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics;
- Mini DisplayPort and mini-DVI for video output;
- a slot-load 8x SuperDrive with double-layer support (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW);
- 120GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm;
- built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking & Bluetooth 2.1+EDR;
- Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 BASE-T);
- five USB 2.0 ports;
- one FireWire 800/400 port;
one audio line in and one audio line out port, each supporting both optical digital and analog;

| It looks I'll be getting the $599 model. I just hope that it doesn't come with a Combo Drive. |

I can't wait to see the final specs and find out whether or not it supports dual displays. It seems stupid to have two display ports without supporting it though. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Thank god! I was beginning to loose faith in Apple.
I wonder if the Apple Stores will have them in stock today? |

| I wasn't going to upgrade, but now I thinking about it. I can always use this Mac mini for HTPC or as a file server. |

It's very expensive IMO, on the UK store at least. _________________ MacBook 1.83Ghz C2D, 2GB Ram, 160GB 7200rpm HDD, OS X 10.6.5
