Apple today released Security Update 2009-001 for Leopard and Tiger (PPC) via its Software Update utility and on the Web. According to the company, Security Update 2009-001 is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. Apple also released Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 3 for Leopard users. Great! I feel way more secure now. Not that I didn't before though.
Actually, it's nice to see Apple stay on top of things. I didn't have any trouble installing them either.
To be honest, though, I was hoping to see an update for iPhoto '09. I think Faces and some of the other stuff needs worked on. |

From what I've been reading, Apple hasn't been on top of things. The Safari RSS vulnerability issue fixed in this update was reported to them like six months ago.

Not that I know anything, but one of these days there will be a massive threat. I just hope Apple can deal with the problem in a timely matter. I'm not sure they've ever really been pushed that way. |

True, they should buy out an antivirus company to help them further stay on top of things, just like they bought Boot Camp, FileMaker, etc... |

They bought a company that made Boot Camp? I didn't know about that one. I remember hearing about them buying the company that made Rosetta though. |
