Do you guys think it's okay to buy a refurbish iphone? I see ATT is starting to offer them for sale. Same high a$$ plan though.
Thnx. _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

| I wouldn't have any trouble buying a refurb from them. As long as it comes with the same warranty. |

Thnx. I'll have to see what they are talking about for warranty. I didn't think of that. _________________ G4 Mac Mini | 1.25ghz | 1gb | 40gb | OS X 10.4.11 | 37" Westinghouse HDTV

I read, the ATT and BestBuy refurbs, are only 3 month warranty. I think 9 months of additional warranty is worth the $50.
Can you activate the iPhone and pay only for phone use and use the Wifi for internet/email. apps.?? no data plan required?? |

Yep, it seems ATT offers a 90 day warranty and you have to get the Data Plan offered. Also a 2 year contract.

From what I understand (I used to work in an apple call center supporting the iPhone) the warranty on the phone starts from the original date of purchase, some people return the phone for very stupid reasons within days, but some of the refurbished iPhones that AT&T sellls to people are complete crap.
If you have the opportunity to check it out and make sure simple things like the home button (located at the bottom middle of the phone), volume, sleep/wake and the ringer switch are all in working order.
I saw it happen too many times where AT&T sold a phone that needed to be sent in for repair be sold to someone as a brand new phone.
If you feel like the AT&T sales rep is just trying to get you out of the store, be afraid |

The sales are getting clever with this now offering a Refrub Iphone?
I personally don't have the problem if they treat it as new and include a warranty plus a half price discount LOL. for my valentine birthday!
As long as the phone still in good shape I'll definitely take it. _________________ Cell Phone Trace | Home Computer Security |

Agreed. I have a few friends who work at Apple stores, and they've come across "Refurbished iPhones" from AT&T that were never refurbished, they were just erased and put back in the packaging. Some had some issues, like a failed speaker, etc. One even had water damage on the phone, so Apple wouldn't fix it.
Sounds like a real mess to save $50. |
