Just an update, someone had figured out how to get the headphones working (in OS X) on the asus eeeeepc, and wrote a nice little app with which you could just click on a little icon in your menubar, and select whether you wanted sound through the speakers, through the headphones, or off. Well, it was only a matter of minutes before it was re-worked for the Wind! So, everything is working now except for the mic, which easily works with a USB dongle.
Another cool thing I did, was to install Plex on the Wind, and mount my movies folder from the external firewire drive hooked up to my mini, via a SMB share. I can now flawlessly stream full rip video_ts files to my Wind. Sweet! Next step is to get it working over the internet with my mini set up as a server so I can watch movies anywhere in the world, without lugging the hard drive around.
I'll tell you what, I don't think I'd be having nearly as much fun with the MBP, had I gone and bought that! My wife is enjoying hers, tho. |

Nice touches; I really like your OSX and MacBook Nano stickers!
How did you get all those awful stickers off the area around the trackpad? I removed the Windows sticker, but the area under it is now shiny and even alcohol doesn't remove that.
By the way, I also upgraded my RAM and changed my wireless to the Gigabyte GN-WI01GT Atheros wireless. It didn't need any modification to install, gives me stronger reception, and it reportedly is OSX compatible should I ever decide to put OSX on my Wind. (I'm quite happy with Ubuntu, and I've modified its look to include the elements I like from OSX.) My next move will be to upgrade the battery to 6 cell once I've identified a supplier I feel comfortable dealing with. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I'm going to stick with the 6 cell as I don't want the battery sticking out so far on the bottom.
What's a boot 132 osx? Is that a new way to install it on a PC? _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

Yeah, every time I see one of those 9 cells, I get this song stuck in my head.
Boot-132 is the newest method for installing OS X on PC hardware. You use a Linux based boot disk that allows you to boot up into a retail Leopard disk. You install like normal. Then, all you have to do is basically load up Chameleon boot-loader and a couple of hardware specific kexts, and you have an original Vanilla kernel OS X install, able to be updated and everything.
There are a couple of great Utilities out there that make the kexts and other OSX86 stuff very easy, created by a guy named PCWiz. Check out his website HERE.
As far as the sticker removal, I believe I just used rubbing alcohol to remove the gunk. I may have used goo-be-gone, or some other similar solvent, I can't really remember. The printed stickers didn't really print as well as I would have liked. I am going to try printing them off on a better printer, and see if that helps. |

Thanks for the compliments Aqua,
While such a business endeavor would be fun for a couple minutes, I don't think it would be lucrative enough for me to give it my energy. I have much bigger schemes that I am focusing on. At the moment, I'll be eternally grateful if my re-install goes OK on my mini. I added a 320GB hdd and 4GB of memory, and I'm trying to do a clean install. However, its giving me all sorts of fits. I believe a scratched DVD to be the culprit. Luckily, I have a backup, and it seems to be going better with that... We'll see...keeping my fingers crossed. OOh! There's the sexy Leopard intro video. Gotta go! |

Well, now that we opened that can of worms. You may also be hearing from Intel with the "inside" logo.
It's really a shame that Apple isn't selling something like your MacBook Nano. Oh, how they are missing the boat with so much these days. |

I could be wrong, but from what I've read the Wind is more compatible with OS X. I think the 1000H owners are still having trouble with a couple things. Sound being one of them. |
