I really want the new ones that have 512MB onboard. I'm willing to spend the $999 if need be...just looking for a good deal. _________________ -=iMav=-

Once I saw the deal at macgobbler, I figured I could probably do better than MacMall and ordered the ram separately. So, now that I can't take advantage of the "free RAM upgrade" from MacMall I decided to go with Amazon. (plus, apparantly I have to pay sales tax if I buy through Mac Mall)
So, I just ordered through Amazon with the free shippping. Not estimated to ship till the 10th, so I've got a bit of time to wait......... _________________ -=iMav=-

I've heard a lot of good things about them (even from former powerbook owners). _________________ -=iMav=-

Is it the price difference that's making you guys consider the 12" iBook vs the 12" PowerBook?
I'll probably be getting some "book" in the near future, ... I figure if I ask why people chose theirs, I'd help make up my mind. |

There just isn't $500 worth of increased value in the 12" PowerBook over the iBook IMHO. The specs are VERY close... _________________ -=iMav=-

| Not to totally OT this thread, but since the whole Mac Gobbler thing looks weird, but ... in your opinon, would the same thing (price diff not being worth it) be true between the 14" iBook and the 15" PB? |

Has anyone ordered from Mac Gobbler?
They have dual 2.0 PowerMacs for $1399……… Coincidently Mac Gobbler says its 300 less than Apple but they also state they do not sell refurbished computers but the price listed for the 2.0 G5 is the price for the refurbished G5 from Apple………. |

MacGobbler has been verified to be a scam. _________________ -=iMav=-

I just ended up buying from Amazon. $999 with you sales tax nor shipping costs. Add a GIG of RAM from NewEgg for $113 and you got yourself a pretty good deal. (plus, there is a $50 mail in rebate that comes with the iBook from Amazon) _________________ -=iMav=-
