Can you get Grip and Lame through DarwinPorts? I always had good luck with Grip in linux....

Lame yes, Grip no. (however, that doesn't stop you from compiling it on your own!)

xACT, seems to be THE ripper on the mac. I do go to bittorent sites and they usually use EAC for Windows. Since some-one showed up using a Mac they had to rethink to get the same ripping quality as Exact Audio Copy. This proved to be xACT and I believe it is even freeware!
