Apple today introduced iLife '09, which features major upgrades to iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand, and includes iDVD and an updated version of iWeb. iPhoto '09 builds on the ability to automatically organize photos into Events by adding Faces and Places as breakthrough new ways to easily organize and manage your photos. iMovie '09 expands on the revolutionary super fast movie creation introduced in iMovie '08 by adding the depth users want through powerful easy-to-use new features such as the incredible new Precision Editor, video stabilization, advanced drag and drop, and animated travel maps. GarageBand '09 introduces a whole new way to help you learn to play piano and guitar with 18 basic lessons and optional lessons from top artists such as Sara Bareilles, John Fogerty, Norah Jones and Sting.

| I went ahead and ordered iLife '09 today. I think it looks like a nice upgrade. More so from the last time around. |

| I'm going to wait for it to come bundled with a new machine. The new iPhoto and iMovie look fantastic though. I can't wait to give them a try. |

Hmm, to me, iLife08 seems like a much bigger upgrade than 09 does.
I was feeling disappointed with iPhoto09, at least. Seems like only big travelers would care about geo info on photos. I bet 90% of photos are shot in 2 or 3 places in the same city. Maybe I don't understand the feature. Face recognition seems useful for some but most of my photos are not just family photos.
I backgraded to iMovie06 which offers more than iMovie08. iMovie09 may be the best upgrade though.
seems like iLife09 shoulda been a free update to 08 not a paid new version. |

I ordered an '09 family pack this morning. I think the iMovie and iPhoto upgrades are decent enough. I have absolutely no musical talent, so those lessons in GargeBand might be really fun. My wife bought me an M-Audio keyboard for Christmas a couple years back and it's been sitting in the closet and collecting dust. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

| I can't wait to see how that video stabilization feature works in iMovie '09. That could be so helpful. |

Great but!!!!
Does anyone kinda think they rushed this out a little quick.
I could understand rushing out iwork because apple is losing money because more people are stealing it then buying it.
I sure hope they fixed the security. |

| The more I think about it, the more I think Faces is going to be really handy. Places also sounds cool, but I don't have a good GPS-enabled camera. Just have the iPhone.... |

iPhoto '09 is one heck of an update. I hope they bring those features up to Aperture as well. |

I don't either. It's nice that you can manually add the location in though. |

| When do you think iLife '09 is going to start shipping out? I thought it was coming the end of this month, but now I'm seeing the 20th of February on my order. Could this be a mistake or something? |
