I just changed the name of the "Mac Mini Boot Camp" forum to "Alternative Operating Systems". I really think that is a more appropriate step for now. I'm not ignoring what you guys discussed, but I would like to wait until after Macworld Expo before adding a new forum. Perhaps we could add a "Linux Lounge" forum under the "SFF Computer and Netbook Chat" forum at that time.

I am a both a Red Hat Enterprise Linux & OS X systems administrator at a local university. You could say I am also a Wind systems admin as well but I really need a shower afterward.
My work machine is a 2007 model iMac and my home machine an early Intel-based Mac Mini.
On both Macs, I run VMWare Fusion for either my Linux and other OS adventures. The only requirement is at least an Intel CPU and two Gigs of RAM.
I would welcome a separate Linux on Mac forum to share notes, etc. _________________ Mac Mini Core Duo, 1.66 Ghz, 2Gb RAM |

Dating myself here but I started using Macs back in the days of the Mac LCIIs. I was a Wind-only systems admin for half a decade before moving into OS X and Linux. I was absolutely miserable as a Wind sys admin since I spent more time being a "repairman" to people's abuse than systems administration.

I have absolutely no problem with that at all since I enjoy what I do. _________________ Mac Mini Core Duo, 1.66 Ghz, 2Gb RAM |
