|
|
Hi, i have the Apple DVI to Video Adapter connected to my Philips 36" TV (CRT).
The TV picture 'twitches' at regular intervals (2-3 per second). The twitch is to the right and the top of the display is more disrupted than the bottom.
this happens with both s-video and composite outputs. the display is fine on a monitor.
Help! |

Try downloading DisplayConfigX and play around with the refresh rates. Maybe something higher will stop the flicker. What resolution are you running at?

I have downloaded this and installed. I am a little scared i might do some damage with it. Do you know of any good tutorials on using it?

I don't off hand. I'll look around.
Have you tried lowering your resolution to 800 X 600 or some of the other resolutions shown in Displays? What refresh rates are showing up in Displays? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Changing the res to 800x600(ish) and moving over to 60hz (NTSC) stopped the flickering/twitching, which is great - thanks!
So my next question is why?
Also, the TV image appears to be less sharp now - how can i adjust my setting using DisplayConfigX to move back to 1024x768 (isnt this the native res of a tv?) in PAL? |

Do you know what the refresh rate was when you were running 1024x768 before? You can really play around with the refresh rate. I just wouldn't go over 85. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
