Hi,
In my quest to have an external drive shared between my PC and my Mac, I'd like to know if there is a way to auto-mount a particular HFS partition once I plugged my USB hard disk.
For the moment I need to manually do in the terminal:
>hdid /dev/disk1s1
after I plugged my USB hard disk. The NTFS partition is automatically mounted though
My external hard drive has two partitions:
- HFS Mac partition
- NTFS PC partition
If somebody master applescript may find a way to automate this, that'll be of great help!
Thanks _________________ Mac Mini 1.58Ghz 1Gb & Sharp Laptop PC

| add it to your startup items (i.e. drag the mounted drive or an alias of it to your startup items folder (under system prefs/users)). |

Actually, I'll try but I thought that would only try to mount on startup.
As I use my drive on both machines, I often unplug and plug the drive from one machine to the other. So when I plug it on the Mac, the Mac is already running. And the HFS partition won't auto-mount, I guess.
I'll try once in a minute and post back. _________________ Mac Mini 1.58Ghz 1Gb & Sharp Laptop PC

Dooh. Due to the way I created my HFS partition in order to get it on the same disk as an NTFS partition, I can't even mount it from the startup item in the account menu.
Thanks for your help anyway
I can only see a way to resolve that by being able to execute an applescript at plugging of an external hard drive. Not sure if I can do that _________________ Mac Mini 1.58Ghz 1Gb & Sharp Laptop PC
