Check this out.

This is one hell of a small computer.

The image below had to be slightly enlarged just so you can see it more clearly... Cool

Now, I know how sharp you guys are; so I am not going to stick my neck out and say its the worlds smallest VGA capable computer.

But it would have to bloody hard to shrink it down any more,

It's one impressive little box.

http://www.fit-pc.com/new/fit-pc-1-0-specifications.html

Comes in 4 flavours.

Linux, Windows, diskless or barebone..

The only problem is the price tag...

....OUCH.....

Not exactly cheeeeep...cheeeep...

Still...

We only live once..

Cool! I'm not familiar with the AMD Geode processor. Is that what AMD is putting up against that Atom?

Aqua, why do you say that's expensive - what can you buy from Apple for $345. It's even cheaper than most netbooks.

What isn't evident from their advertising are the specifications, for the CPU, GPU and RAM. Or is the on-board RAM (256mb) all you get? Can you add more - a rather sparse ad on an otherwise interesting-looking computer.

OK, I see that the CPU speed is 500mhz, so this really is a low-end machine. I would pay more for a more powerful one. Small size is very neat, but if it's a desktop machine, any size from mini on down is all the same to me.

No Geode is more of a competitor to the older VIA chips or an x86 competitor of ARM, AMD hasn't released their Atom competitor yet. The price isn't too hard to believe though since most integrated systems get pricey and to build a AMD geode is at least $150 to get a board with VGA, then an enclosure, some form of storage.

Fox,

The price is in US dollars.

So for me. the price landed in Oz would be virtually double that...possibly even plus some more, given how greedy our Governent is in relation to taxing everything in sight...

Maybe you could pop one in a small plastic lunch pail (Tuppaware style with lid) , and float it out to sea.

Hopefully the currents would then wash it up somewhere near my location...

Cool
